LEGO Ideas wants to see your Star Wars toy photography

The LEGO Ideas team is calling on budding toy photographers to share their Star Wars shots ahead of this year’s May the Fourth celebrations.

If you’re handy with a camera and have the perfect snap from a galaxy far, far away in mind, head over to the activity page and upload it for the world – and the LEGO Ideas crew – to see. The brief is completely open-ended, so you can pull from any era of the Star Wars timeline, or even mash a few up (such is the beauty of LEGO).

There’s no physical prize for taking part in this activity, but that shouldn’t matter to the very active community of LEGO photographers currently sharing their work on Flickr and Instagram: instead, it’s just another means for you to show off your work to a new audience.

You can check out all the details – and browse the submissions so far – by heading over to the activity page. You’ve got until April 16 at 9am UK time to upload your photo(s), which is slightly longer than usual due to the knock-on effect from Denmark’s Easter bank holidays.

Last week’s LEGO Ideas activity asked users to create a ‘library of brick-built books’. You can check out the results of that one by clicking here.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
