Following a period without the London Toy Fair due to the pandemic, the event is back in 2022 and the LEGO Group will be there.
Plans for the 2022 London Toy fair have been revealed the 2021 version was cancelled as a result of the ongoing pandemic. Despite that, the event is now confirmed to return in 2022 and the LEGO Group have been officially confirmed as an exhibitor.
The decision was confirmed on the official London Toy Fair website with the plan for it to be held between January 25 and January 27 at the Olympia London Exhibition Centre, which is currently undergoing redevelopment.
“As a result of the disruption created by COVID19, the ambitious £1.3b redevelopment programme at Olympia London, the home of Toy Fair, has seen some recent changes in the schedule of its planned construction and demolition work,” commented Majen Immink, the organiser of British Toy and Hobby Association’s Director of Toy Fair.
“This has a bearing for Toy Fair. There are some changes in the surrounding area attendees will notice in such a large site redevelopment. Toy Fair has been assured by Olympia London that its top priority is to continue to ensure events go ahead both safely and successfully with disruption kept to an absolute minimum during the works.”
For those of you who are unfamiliar with what happens at the London Toy Fair, the event acts as a way for various companies to show off their upcoming products, with some choosing to display their selection behind closed doors. In past years, this has included the LEGO Group though it may be that reveals of 2022 sets will be made in conjunction with the event.
Nothing beyond the LEGO Group’s attendance at the fair has been announced at this time. Current rumours for 2022 include Speed Champions, more LEGO for Adults Star Wars sets and a theme said to be based on gaming. However, these should be treated with caution until officially confirmed otherwise.
