How to get LEGO Star Wars 40483 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber this Black Friday

Here’s how you’ll be able to get your hands on the exclusive LEGO Star Wars 40483 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber this Black Friday.

Revealed earlier this month, the buildable hilt joins 5006290 Yoda’s Lightsaber in what’s now shaping up to be a growing subtheme of promotional sets. That first lightsaber was free with purchases of 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina for roughly 20 seconds, and 40483 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber will follow suit by being attached to this year’s major new LEGO Star Wars set.

Unless you’ve been living in a Wampa’s cave for the past few weeks, you’ll know we’re talking about 75313 AT-AT, the LEGO Group’s biggest and most impressive rendition of the Imperial walker to date. And if you want to add 40483 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber to your collection, you’ll need to be first in line for the new Ultimate Collector Series set come Black Friday.

That’s November 26, the launch date for 75313 AT-AT, and the first day of this year’s LEGO Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. 40483 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber will be free to anyone purchasing 75313 AT-AT, but based on last year’s LEGO Star Wars freebie, supplies are likely to be very limited – even with the walker’s astronomically-high price tag of £699.99 / $799.99 / €799.99.

Luke’s legacy hilt – which comes in black 18+ packaging, and sits on a display stand – will likely fetch decent money on the aftermarket, so even if you aren’t interested in the freebie, selling it on could help to recoup some of the cost of 75313 AT-AT. Just make sure you’re on the button as soon as it goes live to be in with the best chance of grabbing it.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
