LEGO Super Mario Princess Peach’s Castle revealed

The LEGO Group has prematurely revealed a brand new Super Mario Princess Peach’s Castle set ahead of Mario Day.

LEGO.com is currently counting down to MAR10 Day, or March 10, when the LEGO Group will unveil ‘limited bundles, exclusive VIP rewards and more’ – including at least one brand new set. That’s going by images originally published on (and now deleted from) the official LEGO Instagram page, which have given us our first glimpse at this year’s digital figure.

Princess Peach will join Mario and Luigi in the theme’s line-up of interactive characters, presumably in her own (as-yet-unrevealed) starter set. The images published to Instagram early reveal what may be the flagship set of the summer wave, a buildable Peach’s Castle, complete with plenty of new brick-built Super Mario characters.

A microscale LEGO Peach’s Castle set was originally rumoured for last year, but eventually materialised as 71395 Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block. This set instead adapts the iconic video game location into the format of the regular Super Mario theme, allowing Mario, Luigi and now Princess Peach to interact with its obstacles, allies and enemies.

Also revealed through Instagram are new characters including Yellow Toad, a Boomerang Bro, Ludwig von Koopa and Spike, along with familiar faces like Bowser and Toadette. The countdown to MAR10 Day on LEGO.com will end at 3pm UK time today – or 2am local time in Australia on March 10 – so check back with Brick Fanatics for more reveals imminently.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
