Zavvi has just posted a major discount on 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum – making it one of the best LEGO Marvel deals currently available. 

Taking inspiration from Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange movies (as well as movies like Avengers: Infinity War) 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum is an impressive model of Doctor Strange’s base of operations. While the set usually sells for £214.99, Zavvi has knocked that down to £169.99 – a 21% saving on the RRP.

The Sanctum Sanctorum is inhabited by Doctor Strange, and helps to protect the world from a host of supernatural enemies. This set takes some cues from the LEGO Modular Buildings Collection, offering a highly detailed and fully-enclosed building to admire or play with. It can even connect to other LEGO Modular Buildings, thanks to exterior connection points and tiled pavements.

The ground floor features a large staircase and various nods to Marvel movies, including Doctor Strange’s medical degree and an X-ray of his injured hands. There’s also a hidden chamber containing the Time Stone – one of the six Infinity Stones – which can only be accessed via a magical portal.

The first floor offers various bookshelves, as well as a pair of armchairs and a magical door. By sliding an element on the outside of the building, you can make the door open on a variety of different locations. The top floor of the Sanctum is filled with various magical artefacts, including a nod to the Monkie Kid theme. The iconic round window can also be found here.

Three removable wall sections are included with this set: one containing a billboard, the others containing magical portals. These can be freely positioned and repositioned around the building, allowing you to reveal secret areas or stage dramatic fight scenes. 

Nine minifigures can be found here: regular, evil and undead versions of Doctor Strange, as well as Wong, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Ebony Maw, Karl Mordo and Scarlet Witch. As such, if you’re a fan of any of Doctor Strange’s appearances, this set is an excellent choice.
