LEGO Marvel sets wait on shelves as Venom is delayed again

The incoming release of the Venom sequel has been pushed back again as the corresponding LEGO Marvel sets continue to wait on shelves, in a repeated occurrence for the theme.

Following the release of the film’s latest trailer that showcased a better look at the cinematic version of Carnage, Sony has now confirmed that the Venom sequel is delayed once again, creating another gap between the release date of 76199 Carnage and the premiere of Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

76199 Carnage was released in May 2021, with the movie originally planned to launch on June 25. However, the shifting state of the coronavirus pandemic has changed those plans just as the newer September 15 date (or September 24 in the US) was drawing near. Now, the studio has revealed that Venom: Let There Be Carnage will reach the silver screen on October 15, as long as another delay isn’t caused.

This isn’t the first time that a Marvel set has been forced to wait on shelves whilst its corresponding movie is repeatedly delayed. Most recently, Black Widow was finally released after over a year of delays as the latest chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

During that time, 76162 Black Widow’s Helicopter Chase could only wait for the project to launch, seeing another exclusive Black Widow model revealed in that period in the form of 77905 Taskmaster’s Ambush.

With any luck, Venom: Let there be Carnage will now release as planned on October 15, making for a notably shorter gap between the release of the film and the set than Black Widow experienced. However, we’ll let you know if the situation changes once again. Meanwhile, 76199 Carnage continues to be available alongside the other Marvel bust – 76187 Venom.
