LEGO MASTERS USA Season 3 delayed, celebrity spin-off in the works
FOX has pushed back the premiere of LEGO MASTERS USA Season 3, while announcing a holiday-themed spin-off series is in the pipeline.
Once again hosted by Will Arnett, the third season of LEGO MASTERS USA was initially scheduled to debut on May 31, alongside a new season of drama series Fantasy Island, but both shows have now been postponed until later in the year. There’s no new date for LEGO MASTERS USA at the moment, so it’s basically just hanging in the balance for the time being.
“There’s some great moments where you start to see what you’ve got in the can and they came in so good,” said Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier, as reported by Deadline. “We’re so blessed to have such a hefty returning slate and great choices to make.”
One of those choices is bad news for LEGO MASTERS USA fans, of course – but there is some good news to come out of FOX’s latest schedule. The competitive brick-building show is getting a celebrity-focused spin-off, Celebrity LEGO MASTERS: Holiday Bricktacular, which will pair famous faces with ‘fan-favourite builders’ from previous seasons of LEGO MASTERS USA.
The spin-off show will run for four episodes, all of which will debut on consecutive nights on FOX during the holiday season, with plenty of festive challenges in the mix. Will Arnett – voice of LEGO Batman and host of the first two seasons of LEGO MASTERS USA – will return to helm Celebrity LEGO MASTERS: Holiday Bricktacular.
The decision to postpone the third full season may have been taken in order for it to air just before (or alongside) the seasonal spin-off, but it’s at the risk of dating the show: among the guest stars for Season 3 is Chris Pratt, who turns up to promote Jurassic World: Dominion. By the time LEGO MASTERS Season 3 airs, that movie will likely be long gone from cinemas.
As ever, there’s still no word on a new season of LEGO MASTERS UK, but if you’re on this side of the pond you can at least catch both series of LEGO MASTERS USA on All 4.

- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.

Why wait to release such a fun show? It releases such good endorphins and families watch together. I was looking forward to it.
I just saw a commercial on Fox yesterday for Lego Masters starting on the 31st, so I question how accurate this article is.
Boo!! I have been looking forward to Lego Masters coming back on. Domino Masters was a great substitute but I’m really disappointed that y’all postponed Lego Masters.
