LEGO Minifigure Madness tournament celebrates 10 years of Collectible Minifigures

The LEGO Group has launched the Minifigure Madness tournament to celebrate a decade of LEGO Collectible Minifigures.

To celebrate 10 years of LEGO Collectible Minifigures, the LEGO Group has launched the Minifigure Madness tournament on Twitter. Fans can vote in four brackets for their favourite character, with those sections eventually whittled down to just one minifigure – the overall winner.

The blind bag theme launched in 2010 with the first series, which proved hugely popular and sold out in the limited markets it was released in. Since then, at least three series of the blocky characters had been released every year.

Here are the categories:
• Getups – crazy fun costumed characters
• Sportsball – athletes and sports-themed characters
• Time Machine – more realistic characters from history
• Cosmos – sci-fi and space-themed characters

The vote is between 64 LEGO Collectible Minifigures from the 20 non-licensed series that have been available over the past 10 years, with all of the action taking place on Twitter. In each round, social media users can pick their favourite character.

Following the reveal of LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71027 Series 20 at New York Toy Fair, official images of the characters arrived earlier this week.
