LEGO Minifigures rumoured for 2017

Brick Fanatics has received information on what the LEGO Group may have planned for the Collectible Minifigures theme next year. This is unconfirmed by the LEGO Group, so should only be treated as rumour until anything is confirmed.

Three series of Minifigures are planned for next year — The LEGO Batman Movie, Series 17 and The LEGO NINJAGO Movie. The information also suggests that the LEGO Batman Movie series will include even more unique minifigures than this year’s Disney series did.

After the popularity of the LEGO Movie series in 2014, it is unsurprising that the Collectible Minifigures would be a key part of the product range related to next year’s spin-offs. Fans hoping for a second series of Disney minifigures will have to wait for Goofy and Pluto a while longer…

I really hope all the villains in the trailer are released, as well as some heroes!

I also hope the Ninjago movie gets a minifigure series…

I know I’m in the minority here but if this is true then I’m disappointed. I generally love the normal Collectible Mini Figures, especially when they’re usually filled with interesting characters and concepts we’d likely never see in a main set. I’m also VERY sick of Batman, but that’s a separate rant.

On the other hand my wallet will appreciate the break. Here’s hoping 2018 goes back to at least two CMF waves per year.

A cheap way of getting DC characters without having to buy the expensive and underwhelming sets? Sign me up!

But instead of Series 17 it could be the rumoured Disney Series 2 as has been rumoured by reliable sources since the release of the first series, right? 😉
