First LEGO panel confirmed for San Diego Comic-Con 2022

Following confirmation of its attendance at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 comes the announcement of the LEGO Group’s first panel at the event.

Despite being postponed since 2019, San Diego Comic-Con is back in full force this year. The event is scheduled from July 21 to 24 and will be the place to be for major pop culture brands, surprise announcements and celebrity guests.

The recently-revealed exhibitor list for SDCC has confirmed that the LEGO Group will also be in attendance, potentially revealing new products and possibly offering lucky fans convention-exclusive sets and/or minifigures, as in previous years.

As well as a physical stand on the convention floor (located at Booth 2829), the LEGO Group will also be participating in at least one confirmed panel at the show. SDCC has released its schedule for Thursday, revealing that a ‘Building Worlds with LEGO’ panel will be taking place in Room 6DE from 10:15am to 11:15am. The panel will feature writers, artists and designers discussing how they create unique content via the LEGO World Builder platform.

‘Explore the art of Worldbuilding the LEGO Way with writers, artists and builders as they co-create unique characters, settings and storylines in an original story world, all from scratch using the LEGO World Builder platform. Featuring Celina Frenn (writer, My Little Pony), Kevin Burke and Doc Wyatt (writers, NINJAGO), Paul Lee (concept artist), Peter Donner (LEGO designer) and Asa Tait (head of production, LEGO Entertainment).’

As schedules for the rest of SDCC are revealed over the coming weeks, it’s possible there may be more than one official LEGO panel taking place at the event, so we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
