LEGO R2-KT Patches Created for Charity

R2-KT has joined the many playable LEGO Star Wars characters in The Force Awakens video game, leading to a positive reaction from fans around the world. R2-KT is the unique astromech droid named after Katie Johnson, daughter of 501st Legion Founder Albin Johnson. At a tragically young age, she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. Fan droid builders helped Albin to realise R2-KT, a pink astromech droid who now commemorates his daughter’s life. Since her creation, this notable droid has appeared in The Clone Wars and The Force Awakens in memory of Katie Johnson.

In the weeks following the release of LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens video game, the Internet has been abuzz with fans unlocking a LEGO version of R2-KT in-game. In the tradition of the 501st’s fundraising activity, a special series of three patches have been created to mark the occassion of R2-KT appearing in LEGO form.
