LEGO slashes prices on VIDIYO sets in online sale

The LEGO Group has slashed 30% off the prices of its entire remaining VIDIYO range, including the blind-boxed 43101 Bandmates.

That’s the first series of colourful characters, to be sure, with the second series – 43108 Bandmates – already sold out at LEGO.com. You can now grab a single boxed minifigure from the initial batch for just £2.79 / $3.49 / €3.49, representing a 30% saving on their original price of £3.99 / $4.99 / €4.99 apiece.

You’ll find the same discount across all the remaining VIDIYO products left at LEGO.com across the UK, Europe, US and elsewhere, with the LEGO Group clearly keen to shift stock of this outgoing theme. The augmented-reality experience was originally only temporarily put on hold, but the LEGO Group decided to discontinue it altogether in January this year.

That means this is probably your last chance to pick up the likes of 43115 The Boombox, 43114 Punk Pirate Ship and 43113 K-Pawp Concert before they retire for good. And even while the reception to the theme hasn’t been especially favourable, the prices across LEGO.com at the moment are pretty tempting – particularly with VIP points on top.

Here’s the full list of LEGO VIDIYO sets currently discounted at the official online store, along with their UK prices. You’ll see the same level of discount reflected internationally, too.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then. You can follow me on Twitter at @brfa_chris.
