LEGO Star Wars Bespin exclusive rumoured for Celebration Anaheim

While Star Wars fan impatiently wait for news on whether Star Wars Celebration Anaheim will happen in August, a rumour about the LEGO exclusive has cropped up.

The LEGO Group has released exclusive Star Wars sets for the last few Celebration conventions, the big Lucasfilm event where fans gather to share their love of the galaxy far, far away. While the coronavirus pandemic has thrown the likelihood of Celebration Anaheim 2020 taking place into doubt, word about the LEGO exclusive has arrived.

Rebelscum has received information suggesting that the event exclusive LEGO Star Wars set is themed around the Bespin battle (presumably the duel between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader). Given that this year marks 40 years since the release of The Empire Strikes Back, the timing works nicely.

While there is still a good chance the event will be postponed or cancelled, the LEGO Group will have had to have exclusive product plans in place months ago – so it is likely the box will be released in some format, even if the shows does not go on.

As ever, rumours must be taken with a pinch of salt until official confirmation arrives from the LEGO Group or Lucasfilm.
