LEGO Star Wars Celebration 2022 Obi-Wan Kenobi exclusive set confirmed

The first-ever LEGO set based on the Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series will apparently be available exclusively at Star Wars Celebration 2022.

This year’s convention centred on a galaxy far, far away will take place at the end of May, and as per previous events, attendees will have the chance to get their hands on some exclusive merch from brands including Funko and LEGO. If you’ve got tickets for Star Wars Celebration, you’ll need to sign up for each ‘advanced virtual selection process’, a phrase which here means ‘a lottery’.

If you’re successful, you’ll be able to purchase exclusive items from each brand’s booth during a ‘dedicated shopping window’. The page outlining these terms and conditions doesn’t mention any specific exclusives, but an email sent to attendees states that the LEGO set will be the rumoured 40547 Obi-Wan Kenobi & Darth Vader BrickHeadz two-pack.

That product is said to be based on the upcoming Disney+ show, which would make it the first of three rumoured Obi-Wan Kenobi sets slated for 2022. But given the email advises guests to ‘reserve shopping time’ at the LEGO booth to ‘receive an opportunity to purchase a very special limited item’, it’s probably also one that will be off-limits to the majority of fans.

If you can’t make it to Star Wars: Celebration 2022 – which takes place from May 26 to 29 in Anaheim, California – your only hope will likely be turning to the aftermarket, where you can expect to pay far beyond the cost of a regular BrickHeadz two-pack. This wouldn’t be the first time the LEGO Group has released exclusive BrickHeadz characters, though: the theme originally launched with four sets available only at San Diego Comic-Con in 2016.

Check out all the details on the other two rumoured Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi sets – which will hopefully be more widely available – here. The first two episodes of the live-action series will premiere on Disney+ on May 27.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
