LEGO Star Wars, City and Friends Advent Calendars – Day 10

Each morning leading up to Christmas day, Brick Fanatics is cracking open all three official LEGO advent calendars to see what goodies are found within

Christmas is approaching and to celebrate the festive season, Brick Fanatics is opening up the LEGO advent calendars each day before sharing our thoughts on what is found behind the doors. Feel free to join us and share your own comments when opening up those advent calendar doors – whether you opted for Star Wars, City or Friends. You can do so on FacebookTwitter or underneath this very feature.

I have long had a theory that LEGO Advent Calendars are used for getting rid of parts or figures that are left over from excess production. While this figure doesn’t prove that necessarily – especially as The Force Awakens seems to be a the main theme of this year’s calendar – he is not the most exciting figure to put in this calendar if new ones are being produced for it. Collectors who did not pick up 75099 Rey’s Speeder from two years ago will be happy to get a chance to add this guy to their collection.

60155 City: Enormous RC aeroplane

I forgave the first aeroplane’s scale but it must be called out this time – what child hating monster is designing these things in the LEGO world? To call the size of this mechanised aeroplane a hazard to minifigures is an absolute understatement. Unlike the previous plane, this one does not contain a clever bit of parts usage and is sadly comprised of relatively benign pieces.

41326 Friends: Microphone stand

Last year, musical performance figured heavily into the Friends Advent Calendar which cursed fans with numerous small, useless models like this one. Crude, blocky, and comprised of useless parts other than the microphone, I actively disliked many of those models. Nothing has changed this year – its only saving grace is that it is actually scaled somewhat correctly.
