LEGO Star Wars, City and Friends Advent Calendars – Day 18

Each morning leading up to Christmas day, Brick Fanatics is cracking open all three official LEGO advent calendars to see what goodies are found within

Christmas is approaching and to celebrate the festive season, Brick Fanatics is opening up the LEGO advent calendars each day before sharing our thoughts on what is found behind the doors. Feel free to join us and share your own comments when opening up those advent calendar doors – whether you opted for Star Wars, City or Friends. You can do so on FacebookTwitter or underneath this very feature.

75184 Star Wars: Y-wing

Y-wings have been popular inclusions in Star Wars Advent Calendars in years past. The straightforward shape lends to easy representation at this scale. I would be pretty non-plussed on this model if it were not for the 1×1 white rounds with holes. These are some of the most incredibly useful new pieces that the LEGO Group has produced in recent memory but are still relatively hard to get in large quantities. I dream of finding these in my local store’s Pick a Brick wall but until then I will happily scrounge them from whatever source they come from, advent calendar or otherwise.

60155 City: RC pilot minifigure

Wow, this LEGO City Advent Calendar just keeps getting darker and darker. Is this simply a hard working Coast Guard employee who has wandered unprepared into a winter themed calendar by mistake, or is she using the oversized remote control vehicle to decapitate a fellow minifigure? Minifigures are one of the treats that the advent calendars usually provide plenty of, so it is nice to get another today.

41326 Friends: Party supply stand

LEGO Friends is the newest of the themes to get a regular advent calendar, but that has not kept it from already forming a few traditions. Today’s, the random decoration storage stand, is one of them. Last year’s calendar had a contraption like this and my reaction was the same while building it – what exactly is this supposed to be? That being said, AFOLs should rejoice as literally every part on this ill conceived contraption is worth having.
