LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga makes droids relevant again
We’ve been watching the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga trailer again and noticed that droids could be more useful in the upcoming game than previous ones.
Anyone who has played past LEGO Star Wars games probably remembers the pain of needing to get droids from one place to another. Needing C-3PO to let you into a specific room with his droid permissions meant needing to slowly walk his golden legs all the way across the level.
It got even worse when he was injured and lost a leg, turning his leisurely amble into a truly painful hop. In the most recent trailer, however, we spotted C-3PO putting himself to far better use.
Perched on top of what looks like an AT-ST, C-3PO can apparently move the huge machine around and shoot from it too. In previous games, the droids weren’t able to ride in the Walkers, although they could be knocked over by them, which was an amusing Easter Egg.
Hopefully the droids will be less of an irritating necessity in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and become more essential, useful members of the team.
