Will LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga include character customisation?

With LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga including so many new features, will the classic character customisation option make a return?

Boasting a roster of over 300 unlockable and playable characters to select from, there should be plenty of choice in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga for even the pickiest of fans. However, if you can’t find a character to your liking, how about making your own custom minifigure to play through the game with?

Previous TT Games’ LEGO releases have included a handy character customisation option that allows players to combine various pre-set minifigure pieces into a new character and even name their creation. LEGO DC Super Villains had a particularly detailed system that enabled players to tweak almost every single element of their own character, before letting them loose in the game.

Whilst the recently-released LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga overview trailer didn’t show any footage of character customisation actually being included in the game; a new video suggests it will still be available. The Lunar Squadron YouTube channel posted the above video that details their thoughts on the feature and what they’d expect from it in the new game, as well as the potential appearance of hidden Bacta Tanks.

One particularly interesting aspect of the video is a brief interview segment with a TT Games employee (at the 4.22 mark) who confirms that character customisation will be back to use in Freeplay mode. However, the interview was conducted at E3 a few years ago and the game has suffered a number of delays, so it’s entirely possible that the feature may not even make it into the final version.

Either way, we’ll find out when LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is released on April 5 and you can check out our updated pre-order guide here.
