It sounds like LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is getting a demo

If you want to try LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga out before taking the plunge, good news: it sounds like a demo is imminent.

Nintendo Life reports that the Switch UK eShop includes mention of a demo for TT Games’ latest title, which launched across all major gaming platforms on Tuesday, April 5. At the moment, however, clicking through to the specific product page for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga doesn’t bring up the option to download a demo.

It may be that Nintendo simply added ‘demo available’ to its search results in error, but it feels equally likely at this stage that it could genuinely be a sign of things to come. Game demos feel like a relic of previous generations in some ways, but they do still exist here and there, giving players the option to dabble in games and genres they might not usually try.

If you’re reading this on Brick Fanatics, chances are you fall squarely into the demographic for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. But that doesn’t guarantee you’re going to blindly buy into the saga-spanning sequel, which is where a demo could really help open the game to an even bigger playerbase – so fingers crossed one really is on the way, and across more platforms than just the Switch.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
