LEGO Super Mario 71387 Adventures with Luigi Starter Course price and release date confirmed

The LEGO Group has officially revealed LEGO Super Mario 71387 Adventures with Luigi Starter Course, confirming its price and release date.

The 280-piece set will retail for £49.99 in the UK, $59.99 in the US and €59.99 in Europe. That’s in line with last year’s 71360 Adventures with Mario Starter Course, only with 49 more pieces in the box.

You’ll be able to buy 71387 Adventures with Luigi Starter Course – which introduces a brand new digital figure to the video game theme – from August 1, although it’s already available to pre-order through LEGO.com. And if you buy today, you’ll also secure double VIP points on your entire purchase.

As expected, the new starter course also introduces a new environment, represented by medium nougat bricks, which is apparently called the ‘Tower biome’, and will trigger unique reactions from LEGO Luigi. There’s no confirmation yet on whether Mario will have the same reactions, but we’ll keep you posted.

Alongside the lesser-known Mario Bro, 71387 Adventures with Luigi Starter Course includes a question mark block, buildable Pink Yoshi, and two enemies in Boom Boom and Bone Goomba. You’ll also net everything you need to set up a course – namely the Start Pipe and Goal Pole – which means you can grab this independently of 71360 Adventures with Mario Starter Course.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
