LEGO teams up with Sky Sports to promote cricket competition

The LEGO Group has teamed up with Sky Sports and The Hundred to promote the brand-new cricket competition.

The summer tournament involves eight women’s teams and eight men’s teams, each from a different city across the UK, playing in 68 games total. The rules are simple: each team gets 100 balls to try and get as many runs as possible, giving the event its name at the same time.

In order to promote The Hundred, various cricketing personalities teamed up with the LEGO Group to create a brick-based video. LEGO versions of Andrew Flintoff, Ebony Rainford-Brent, Ben Stokes, Heather Knight, Moeen Ali, and Kate Cross take viewers through how the matches will work.

“This partnership with Sky, the LEGO Group, and The Hundred is so cool,” said Ebony Rainford-Brent, former English cricketer who is featured in the video, in an interview with Sky Sports. “We want to help even more kids fall in love with our great game and working with a partner like the LEGO Group is a fantastic way to do just that.

“The video gives a first glimpse into how much fun every game of The Hundred will be on Sky Sports and I can’t wait to see what the teams themselves manage to create and build during the competition.”

The Hundred will air from July 23, with all the games available to watch on Sky Sports or to stream on the Sky Sports Cricket YouTube channel. You can also buy tickets to see the matches in person from The Hundred website.
