LEGO Technic 42100 Liebherr R R 9800 Excavator official images

Official images showcasing LEGO Technic 42100 Liebherr R R 9800 Excavator have finally arrived.

Way back in January, LEGO Technic 42100 Liebherr R R 9800 Excavator was announced at Nuremberg Toy Fair. Official images have finally turned up that reveal the enormous 4,108 piece model in all its glory, with PromoBricks sharing the images that were published by Lucky Bricks.

The set is expected to be released on October 1, which means it will follow the three new LEGO Technic sets that recently launched:

42097 Compact Crawler Crane
42098 Car Transporter (review)
42099 4×4 X-Treme Off-Roader

This really will be a rewarding build, with the finished model measuring 39 cm high, 65 cm long and 27 cm wide. It has been developed in collaboration with Liebherr to ensure its authenticity.

42100 Liebherr R 9800 utilises the Technic version of Powered UP, CONTROL+, which includes two new Smart Hubs. Each one can drive up to four engines, with 42100 packing seven engines into its frame in total. The functionality will enable users to drive the model back and forth, steer the vehicle, rotate the body, raise and lower the boom and open and tilt the bucket.
