LEGO Thanos statue to appear at San Diego Comic Con

One of the LEGO Group’s centrepiece statues at San Diego Comic Con will be the Mad Titan himself, Thanos.

Now that fans know about the various exclusives that they will be seeking to track down at San Diego Comic Con this week, the LEGO Group has made the first of several reveals regarding the impressive statues that will adorn the company’s floor space. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the first, based on Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War, represents Thanos.

The LEGO statue of the purple antagonist measures eight and a half feet tall, uses 91,350 bricks and took 418 hours work to complete.

As well as decorative models, there will be plenty of loose bricks and opportunities for fans to get hands-on at the LEGO booth. New sets are expected to be on display, including the recently unveiled The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part products and 21311 Voltron.

Some August sets may even be available to buy early, as that has been the case in previous years.

San Diego Comic Con runs from July 19 to 22.

The current LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets are available now from [geot exclude_country=”United States”]shop.LEGO.com[/geot][geot country=”United States”]shop.LEGO.com[/geot].
