LEGO trends on Twitter as many remember their first set

The LEGO Group is trending on Twitter after asking followers what their LEGO history looks like, with a designer even getting involved.

As the last weekend before a major day for new LEGO sets and the arrival of the upcoming price increases in select regions goes by, the LEGO Group’s social media team has managed to get the brand trending on Twitter.

The tweet in question is well-suited to the 90th anniversary, posing a challenge to followers to recall their first, last, best, most challenging, rarest and next LEGO set.

At the time of writing, there are around 1,500 responses to the original tweet as many share a small piece of their LEGO collection, including TheLuckyLoco who highlighted 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone as their most recent model.

Reis O’Brien focused on a mix of old and new models, including the nostalgic 928 Space Cruiser and they’re looking forward to picking up 10306 Atari 2600 next too.

LEGO designer George Gilliatt decided to get involved with this challenge too, promoting his personalised minifigure business card and BIONICLE, which currently has a competition on LEGO Ideas to enter.

With the 90th anniversary of the LEGO Group taking place on August 10, 2022, this challenge has served as a nostalgic trip through time and a look at the LEGO portfolio in the modern day before the big day arrives.
