LEGO vending machines arrive
A LEGO vending machine has turned up in a Florida airport, giving fans the opportunity to buy LEGO sets on the go.
Over two decades ago, when LEGO designers were coming up with new ideas for what would become BIONICLE, the idea that the sets could be purchased from vending machines came up. With the new packaging design, the theory was that they could be sold at petrol stations and similar locations.
Those vending machines never arrives, but now, in 2020, an old idea has new legs. A LEGO vending machine has turned up at Orlando International Airport in Florida, USA, where fans can buy LEGO sets from a machine just like a bottle of Coca Cola.
Initially it seems that the specially branded vending machine contains LEGO Architecture, Star Wars, Disney, Harry Potter and Batman sets. They are sitting in a dual machine alongside electronic products including headphones.
While killing time during the long waits in airport might be perfect for doing some LEGO building, there’s also a good chance of losing a piece…
A selection of new LEGO sets launched recently, including 75978 Diagon Alley, 75292 The Mandalorian Bounty Hunter Transport, 60271 Main Square, 71028 Harry Potter Series 2, 75279 Star Wars Advent Calendar, 75981 Harry Potter Advent Calendar, 60268 City Advent Calendar and 41420 Friends Advent Calendar.
