LEGO VIDIYO 43101 Bandmates box distribution revealed

The distribution of minifigures in a box of LEGO VIDIYO 43101 Bandmates has been revealed, giving us some hope of seeking out specific characters.

The augmented-reality theme’s series of collectible minifigures (that totally aren’t Collectible Minifigures) are packaged in cardboard rather than plastic, making it impossible to feel out individual characters.

Thankfully, StoneWars has managed to pick up a full box of 43101 Bandmates ahead of their wider release on March 1, and has now revealed the distribution of all 12 characters in an unopened box.

While distribution among individual boxes may vary, StoneWars’ box of 24 characters contained two complete series of 12 minifigures. Better yet, the position of each of those characters in the box was identical across its two columns, suggesting the LEGO Group is adhering to a specific pattern.

That means if you spot a freshly-opened box on a shelf, you’ll hopefully be able to accurately pick out the exact character you want by simply counting back from the front. Here’s the order of 43101 Bandmates’ minifigures as they appeared in StoneWars’ box, from back to front:

Werewolf Drummer
Red Panda Dancer
Discowboy Singer
DJ Cheetah
Samurapper
Shark Singer
Banshee Singer
Cotton Candy Cheerleader
Genius Dancer
Alien Keytarist
Bunny Dancer
Ice Cream Saxophonist

There’s no guarantee that this will be the case for every box, of course – but as StoneWars points out, an even distribution among all boxes would be the easiest for the LEGO Group to manage logistically. 43101 Bandmates will go on sale on March 1 for £3.99 / $4.99 / €4.99 per minifigure.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
