LEGOLAND Florida Resort celebrates NASA Mars Perseverance launch

A new display at LEGOLAND Florida Resort celebrates the launch of  NASA Mars Perseverance rover.

To celebrate the launch of NASA’s Perseverance rover, which is en route to Mars, LEGOLAND Florida Resort has opened a new display, Your Sun reports. A 66,000 brick astronaut and 44,000 brick moon landing mosaic have been added to the theme park’s attractions, having previously resided at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor’s Complex.

The models are located in the Imagination Centre. It took 143 hours to design the astronaut model and five model builders spent 450 hours building it. As for the mosaic, it took 58 hours to design and 480 hours to build, with six model makers involved in putting it together.

LEGOLAND Florida Resort reopened in June with measures in place intended to minimise the risk of guests contracting coronavirus.

The park has opened at just 50% capacity, with temperature checks for guests, no cash payments permitted and face masks for guests, which it will be compulsory to wear.

Those who have a temperature of have travelled internationally within 14 days will not be allowed entry to the park. Social distancing will be required throughout the resort, with markers in place to inform guests on the required distancing.
