LEGOLAND Windsor Resort gives Miniland a festive touch

Miniland has had a Christmas makeover at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, with mini LEGO illuminations, royalty tucking into Christmas dinner and of course Santa Claus making an appearance. It is part of the theme park’s Christmas Bricktacular celebrations, when for selected dates families can visit Father Christmas and enjoy a limited range of attractions.

The LEGOLAND Windsor Resort PR team have shared the following details:

The minute illuminations are exact replicas of the sparkling ball shaped lights that run along London’s Oxford Street hung in Miniland’s 380cm long version of the world famous shopping avenue; but at 3, 4 and 5.5cm in diameter they are 20 x smaller than the real things. Created from 822 transparent LEGO bricks they will light up daily with Craig David, who turned them on earlier this month, poised ready to switch them on.

Meanwhile over at Buckingham Palace the Miniland Royal Family are wrapped up in specially commissioned miniature knitwear ready to brave the cold at an al fresco Christmas dinner. The Queen and HRH Prince Philip are wearing tiny hats and scarves, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and HRH Prince Harry are donning suitably festive Christmas jumpers, whilst Princess Charlotte and Prince George are keeping warm in miniature mittens and hats with a Santa hat for Lupo, the Cambridge’s Cocker Spaniel. The table is laid out with a LEGO-licious spread including Christmas pudding, turkey and tiny LEGO Christmas Crackers. And there’s even a special bright red LEGO post box for the little Royals to post their letters to Santa.

At dusk, buildings including Edinburgh Castle will be lit up and guests will have fun spotting elves and reindeer, Christmas shoppers and carol singers. PLUS there will be a flying visit from Father Christmas himself.

It took the talented Model Makers 306 hours to create Christmas in Miniland which will be open during the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort’s Christmas Bricktacular season running for 12 days* over Christmas starting on 3 December.

Christmas Bricktacular runs 3rd/4th 10th/11th 17th to 24th December 2016.
