LEGO’s Disney 100th anniversary sets have covered a lot of new ground
We’re only halfway through 2023 and the LEGO Disney 100 sets have already covered a lot of new stories for the theme.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Disney, just after their 90th, the LEGO Group is celebrating with dozens of new sets. However, the news has been hard to miss with the numerous releases. These include a Collectible Minifigures series (71038 Disney 100), massive models such as 43227 Villain Icons and many BrickHeadz.
With so many sets, you might not have noticed every new story that has been debuted as part of LEGO Disney. Not counting digital appearances, here’s what the LEGO Disney 100 sets have introduced to the brick-built portfolio.
Robin Hood
The 1973 Robin Hood movie now has a place in LEGO Disney with minifigures of Robin Hood and Prince John in 71038 Disney 100, using a pair of specialised pieces.
Coco
Based on the 2017 film, 71038 Disney 100 also includes the first two Coco minifigures with Ernesto de la Cruz and Miguel Rivera (and Dante)
Big Hero 6
2014’s Big Hero 6 debuts in LEGO as part of 71038 Disney 100, but only with one minifigure of Baymax in his healthcare assistant appearance.
Finding Nemo
43226 Disney Duos includes the first LEGO representation for 2003’s Finding Nemo (outside of LEGO Incredibles) with brick-built versions of Nemo and Squirt.
Up
Arguably getting the most representation of any story on this list, 43217 ‘Up’ House is the first appearance of the Disney and Pixar film in bricks with minifigures of Carl, Russel and a Dug piece.
101 Dalmatians
Cruella de Vil’s minifigure in 71038 Disney 100 and BrickHeadz from 40620 Cruella & Maleficent debuts 101 Dalmatians into LEGO Disney.
Pocahontas
While she has been teased as a mini-doll before in a promotional poster, the first physical LEGO Pocahontas representation is here in 2023 thanks to a minifigure in 71038 Disney 100 and 43226 Disney Duos as well as her mini-doll in 43215 The Enchanted Treehouse.
