Look out for major Star Wars and Marvel news later today for Disney+ Day

Today marks Disney+ Day, an anniversary event that looks set to bring us major new announcements and trailers for both Star Wars and Marvel.

Anything revealed today could dictate the future course of both of those franchises’ respective LEGO themes, with potential new TV shows and movies on the horizon. Among those is expected to be at least one new Marvel Cinematic Universe trailer, potentially showcasing one of the already-announced Disney+ shows, and a first trailer for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Reports also suggest that we’re going to see at least a reel of behind-the-scenes footage for Andor, the Rogue One spin-off show arriving in 2022. That would follow a new documentary feature on the legacy of Boba Fett, which is now available to stream ahead of The Mandalorian spin-off series The Book of Boba Fett premiering on December 29.

Disney+ Day has already started worldwide, with new content dropping on the streaming service at 8am UK time this morning – including Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Jungle Cruise – but the livestreamed event will kick off properly at 2pm UK time. That’s where we’re expecting to see new trailers and announcements drop, so make sure to tune in via Disney’s social channels:

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
