Marvel Studios’ Blade has rumoured new director and new script

Marvel Studios’ Blade reportedly has a new director and a new script following a previous report that production on the film had paused.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Lovecraft Country pilot’s director Yann Demange has been assigned as the new director of the upcoming Marvel Studios Blade movie. The Emmy-nominated Michael Starrbury, who wrote an episode of Ava DuVernay’s drama, is also said to have been brought on board to write an entirely new script for the film.

This comes after a previous report that production on the movie had been paused while the team searched for a new director to replace Bassim Tariq. Provided this rumour is true, it appears that the report was accurate and that the search is over. This update also means that the old script has reportedly been scrapped.

According to the rumour, the new script is said to be dark and gritty in tone potentially in line with the older Blade movies from the 2000s. This has yet to be confirmed so take it, and all of this report, with caution for now.
