Metal Gear Solid creator reveals latest additions to his LEGO collection

Professed LEGO super-fan and Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has taken to social media to show off his latest set additions.

Legendary video game creator Hideo Kojima is the mastermind behind such massive hits as the Metal Gear series, Policenauts and Death Stranding. However, Kojima is also a huge LEGO fan and has previously professed his adoration for the brand, stating that his favourite Batman film is The LEGO Batman Movie. The video game superstar also recently took to Twitter with images of his copy of LEGO Ideas 21333 Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night and stated, ‘I love LEGO’.

Now Kojima has taken to social media once again, revealing not one but two additions to his growing LEGO collection. As glimpsed on Twitter, the gaming creator has posted images of LEGO Ideas 21327 Typewriter, a set that recently celebrated its one-year anniversary. Although Kojima doesn’t offer any shots of himself building the model, his pictures do manage to reveal his keen eye for detail and an appreciation of the set’s design aesthetic.

LEGO designer James May who worked on 21327 Typewriter responded to Kojima’s post by saying, ‘This is amazing seeing one of my heroes building a set I worked on. I hope you enjoyed the build!’

Also glimpsed in one image in the post is a second LEGO Ideas set, 21323 Grand Piano. The now-retired set can be seen behind 21327 Typewriter, with the completed model’s lid closed and the adjustable bench lowered.

LEGO Ideas 21327 Typewriter is still available for purchase from the official UK and Europe online stores for £174.99 / €199.99, but is currently temporarily out of stock on the US site.
