More clues to the release date of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

An internship listing at Warner Bros. has given us another clue to the release date of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

According to industry analyst MauroNL, the listing states the long-awaited video game will arrive in the second quarter of 2021. That puts the release date somewhere between April 1 and June 30. We already know that TT Games’ latest saga-spanning title is launching in spring, so we can rule out June.

Pending any further delays, that suggests LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will launch in either April or May, ruling out a March release. But given we’ve heard nothing on the release date since August last year, and details on the game are few and far between, a March launch did seem pretty unlikely anyway.

At this point, the date that would make most sense is May 4 – not only for its obvious Star Wars link, but also because it’s a Tuesday, which is when most video games typically launch in the US. That might mean we see a release date of May 7 in the UK, where games usually launch on Fridays, but hopefully Warner Bros. will aim for a simultaneous worldwide debut whatever happens.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
