More rumoured details on LEGO Star Wars 2023 sets, including new clone battle pack
Some more juicy details have emerged on the first wave of apparent 2023 LEGO Star Wars sets, with new Clone Troopers and Imperial officers seemingly on the cards.
LEGO Star Wars has been a key part of the LEGO lineup for two decades, with new releases here some of the most hotly anticipated. Promobricks has shone a fresh spotlight on three rumoured models, each of which is due to appear in January 2023. Several other LEGO sets are hinted at, although fine details on these have yet to appear.
With that in mind, here’s what we have to work with:
75344 Slave I Microfighter
Price: €9.99 Pieces: 85 Minifigures: Boba Fett Release Date: January 1, 2023
Boba Fett’s iconic spaceship is reportedly finally getting the official Microfighters treatment, joining a long line of LEGO renditions. (The model above was released for the theme’s 20th anniversary, although other, similarly impressive versions have followed it.) Even if you own other versions of the craft, this one reportedly includes Boba Fett in his new, darker outfit – which first appeared in 75312 Boba Fett’s Starship and 75326 Boba Fett’s Throne Room.
Both Boba and Fennec Shand seemingly appear on the box, tying this set to the Mandalorian TV show era of Star Wars. Fennec herself is absent from the set, reflecting the one-minifigure policy of most Microfighters sets.
The small scale of the craft apparently means its seat cannot rotate. This is perhaps to be expected, although it’ll be interesting to see how we’re meant to display it when we aren’t swooshing it about.
75353 501st Battle Pack
Price: €19.99 Pieces: 119 Minifigures: Heavy Trooper x2, Clone Officer, Clone Specialist Release Date: January 1, 2023
Clone Troopers have retained their popularity over the years, bolstered by media like the Clone Wars TV show. They’re also great for minifigure collectors thanks to the colourful array of clone trooper uniforms. Now it seems some new ones are landing on store shelves in January.
Four new Clone Troopers will apparently be included in this set, with the 2017 video game Star Wars Battlefront II serving as inspiration. While this may seem unusual, it’s not unprecedented – and it allows for a wider variety of soldier types to make an appearance.
We’ll get two heavy troopers, an officer and a specialist; each has subtle colour and equipment differences, and more accessories can be attached to the helmets. Apparently the sniper can even attach a set of macrobinoculars to his helmet.
Naturally, a buildable LEGO object will also be included. We’ll reportedly receive a small AV-7 Antivehicle Cannon, which has appeared (on a larger scale) in LEGO form in 2014. Check out 75045 Republic AV-7 Anti-Vehicle Cannon (pictured above) for a sense of what it could look like.
75347 TIE Bomber
Price: €64.99 Pieces: 625 Minifigures: TIE Pilot, Darth Vader, Gonk Droid, Imperial Officer Release Date: January 1, 2023
This Imperial ship has made only a few appearances in LEGO form (the one above dates back to 2003) so a new version with more sophisticated building techniques is highly appealing. Similarly scaled to other LEGO TIE ships, 75347 TIE Bomber will reportedly offer the familiar black and grey colour scheme. Four minifigures will also be included: a TIE pilot, Darth Vader, a Gonk droid and an Imperial officer.
While most Imperial officers in LEGO sets are generic, this one may be Rae Sloane – a Star Wars character typically restricted to printed Star Wars media. As such, her presence here may make this set even more inviting.

Until these rumours are confirmed by the LEGO Group, we should treat all of these set details with a degree of scepticism. Of course, with 2023 fast approaching we won’t have long to wait either way.
