More LEGO sets are selling out online ahead of Black Friday 2021

LEGO Ideas 21318 Tree House has temporarily sold out online, becoming only the latest in a string of huge sets to drop out of stock ahead of Black Friday.

The third-largest LEGO Ideas set to date (at 3,036 pieces) is no stranger to inventory issues at LEGO.com, but it now joins an increasingly-large pile of sets unavailable to purchase as we approach LEGO VIP WeekendBlack Friday and Cyber Monday.

Also on that list at the moment are 76139 1989 Batmobile, 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay and 75192 Millennium Falcon. The former pair of sets are due to retire by the end of 2021, which makes their current unavailability particularly pressing, though both 21318 Tree House and the Falcon are currently slated to stick around into 2022.

Given the major shopping events coming up later this month – and all the offers, deals and gifts-with-purchase they’ll entail – here’s hoping the LEGO Group manages to get a better handle on supply of those sets, as they’re no doubt high on at least a few wish lists.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
