Look inside Issue 68 of the LEGO Star Wars magazine

The latest edition of the LEGO Star Wars magazine is now available at all good retailers, so here’s a peek at what’s inside this month’s issue.

As always, Immediate Media’s long-running title includes a vibrant mix of puzzles, comics, posters and activities to entertain young fans – perfect for parents looking for a tiny reprieve from the horrors of home-schooling.

Issue 68 focuses on cover star Darth Vader, but you won’t find the Sith Lord in the foil-bagged freebie attached to the front. Instead, this month’s mag comes complete with a Mandalorian warrior, pulled straight from 75267 Mandalorian Battle Pack (so not, as once suspected, a brand new design).

You can take a closer look at that minifigure right here, but suffice to say it should sweeten the deal enough to warrant parting with £3.99 on your next trip to the supermarket – especially if you do have kids who can better enjoy the contents of the issue.

Next month’s issue of the LEGO Star Wars magazine arrives on shelves on March 17, and includes a free Emperor Palpatine minifigure. It’s identical to the one included in last year’s 75291 Death Star Final Duel, a set that retails for the not-insignificant sum of £89.99, so represents an even more enticing prospect than this month’s mag.

It also means the title will have delivered two minifigures in a row, following last month’s buildable TIE Interceptor model. That’s a real rarity, but could signal a more permanent shift to minifigure freebies. We’ll have to wait to get our hands on Issue 69 to find out for sure.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
