LEGO #YouAreEnough campaign celebrates LGBTQIA+ employees

The LEGO Group’s #YouAreEnough campaign shines a spotlight on an LGBTQIA+ employee and offers inclusion tips to other global companies.

Towards the end of Pride Month, LEGO Group employee Jeremy Lee shared his own journey as a gay man and what he has worked on for diversity and inclusion within his role at the company. He also offered some practical tips for other companies looking to make sure that their workplace inclusion goes beyond just one month of the year.

“I joined the LEGO Group in 2019, around the same time the company introduced the Leadership Playground – an inclusive working philosophy created for everyone in the LEGO team to feel safe and inspired to be brave, curious, and focused,” wrote Jeremy in a blog post. “Creating a safe space resonated strongly with me because I knew that this was a prerequisite for us to bring our authentic selves to work without fear of discrimination or judgement.”

Jeremy went on to share how this year’s #YouAreEnough social media campaign began, where employees shared photos of themselves with the hashtag.

“The inspiration for this campaign came when I was in a meeting recently sharing my coming out story with the team,” explained Jeremy. “The APAC President was in the meeting hearing my story for the first time, and at the end, he left a comment: ‘You are yourself, Jeremy, and that is enough for us.’ That was such a powerful statement of inclusivity.”

Jeremy and his colleagues carried that message through to the campaign and used what they learned to offer some tips to other people. Read their tips and more about Jeremy’s story in the full blog post here.
