More images of LEGO Nintendo 71395 Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block

LEGO Nintendo 71395 Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block is now listed at LEGO.com, revealing more images of the brand new direct-to-consumer set.

Revealed earlier today, the 2,046-piece set commemorates the 25th anniversary of Super Mario 64, which first arrived on Nintendo 64 on June 23, 1996 (and has since been available to play on Wii and Wii U). Four of the original 3D Mario game’s levels are recreated in microscale within 71395 Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block, including Peach’s Castle and Lethal Lava Trouble.

You’ll also find microfigures of classic characters including Mario and Princess Peach, which you can take a closer look at – along with the rest of this enormous new Nintendo set – by browsing through the gallery below.

Click here to hear from the designer behind 71395 Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block, who says that the set is intended to ‘tap into even more elements of the traditional [Super Mario] gameplay’. That’s achieved partly through the set’s interactive element, triggering unique sound effects in the digital LEGO Mario and Luigi figures.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
