New exclusive LEGO Store opening minifigure cards

A new type of exclusive product is being distributed at LEGO Store openings, with the first given out in the USA.

Last weekend, two new LEGO Stores opened in the USA and the Brick Fan reports that some new exclusive products were given out. At the Lakeside Shopping Centre in New Orleans and the Ross Park Mall in Pittsburgh, the first 500 customers got an exclusive carded minifigure for free.

As with the exclusive minifigures given out at events such as San Diego Comic Con, each minifigure comes in a blister pack with a card backing. The card is the definitely exclusive part, with the LEGO Store location printed on it. It is more debatable whether the minifigures are exclusive, as they use existing parts.

In New Orleans, the minifigure was Mardi Gras themed, while the Pittsburgh minifigure was themed around hockey.

Fans will want to watch out for new LEGO Store openings if they are keen to get in on the exclusive minifigure action. There are often other activities too, such as gift with purchase deals and character photo opportunities.
