Official LEGO store offers free Star Wars 40288 BB-8 for May the Fourth

With the promotional May the Fourth weekend kicking off today, the official LEGO online store is offering a free Star Wars set, 40288 BB-8, with qualifying orders.

Each year, Lucasfilm licensees come up with special Star Wars products and promotions to tie into the May the Fourth (it sounds like May the Force) weekend, with the LEGO Group offering a series of special promotions this year. The big one is a free 40288 BB-8 polybag, with fans needing to spend £60 ($75) to get the exclusive set.

That is not all though, as there are double VIP points on any LEGO Star Wars order, except for the new 75181 Y-wing Starfighter and 75192 Millennium Falcon. Even better, selected sets have been discounted by 20% including UCS 75144 Snowspeeder and 75191 Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive.

Today also sees the launch of the latest Ultimate Collector Series release, 75181 Y-wing Starfighter, that recreates the memorable bomber using an eye watering 1967 pieces.

Those holding the special edition LEGO Star Wars VIP card will get a free exclusive 75181 Y-wing Starfighter blueprint with any order over £30, with promotional codes arriving in the inboxes of those holding the card.

These May the Fourth LEGO Star Wars promotions will run until Sunday, May 6, with 40288 BB-8 available until that date or while stocks last.
