Opening date for THE LEGO MOVIE WORLD at LEGOLAND Florida Resort announced

The LEGOLAND Florida Resort has announced the opening date for THE LEGO MOVIE WORLD, giving fans the opportunity to step inside the world from the films.

LEGOLAND Florida Resort will be the first theme park to open THE LEGO MOVIE WORLD on March 27, shortly after the release of The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. The new land has seen the creatives at Merlin Magic Making collaborate with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to create the ultimate immersive world.

“THE LEGO MOVIE WORLD is our largest addition to date and will provide guests around the world with the ultimate movie-to-theme park experience,” said Keith Carr, project director of Merlin Magic Making. “The park just screams fun everywhere you look; kids and families alike can interact with various characters, enjoy ride technology that’s the first of its kind and dine on tasty tacos at Taco Tuesday Everyday. Not to mention, we have a spaceship playground!”

There will be three new rides that THE LEGO MOVIE WORLD is based around – THE LEGO MOVIE Masters of Flight, Unikitty’s Disco Drop and Battle of Bricksburg. In addition, there will be shopping and dining experiences including space themed playground, Taco Tuesday Everyday and The Awesome Shop.

“The rides truly capture the whimsical fun and quirky nature of the popular LEGO movies,” said Rex Jackson, general manager of LEGOLAND Florida. “The Masters of Flight ride will be iconic to our park, Unikitty’s ride sings and spins with her ever-changing emotions and the Battle of Bricksburg is themed around huge LEGO DUPLO aliens. With great partners in Warner Bros. we’ve developed a park that will bring a lot of smiles to children and their families. We’re thrilled to be the only location for fans to experience THE LEGO MOVIE WORLD.”

To complement the new section of the theme park, new THE LEGO MOVIE themed rooms are opening at the LEGOLAND Hotel.

Tickets can be booked at the LEGOLAND Florida Resort website.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part will be released on February 8, 2019.
