PR industry votes The LEGO Movie 2 and Turkish Airlines link-up as the best campaign for February

The fun airline safety video that saw The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part team collaborate with Turkish Airlines was voted the best PR campaign for February.

It feels as if some of the promotional tie-ins are more successful than the film itself in the case of The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. While the critically praised animated feature has struggled at the box office, many of the associated campaigns have been well received.

For the second time, Turkish Airlines opted for an entirely animated airline safety video, featuring the cast of The LEGO Movie 2, with cameos from characters who appeared in other animated LEGO movies. With Batman in the director’s chair, it proved an entertaining short. “Gunther, wardrobe’s feeling a little drab,” the Dark Knight says as he directs his minifigure co-stars in the safety video.

The public relations industry agrees, with readers of PR Week voti9ng it the best campaign for February, well ahead of McDonald’s Big Mac Bacon campaign and the Valentine’s wedding campaign from Pizza Express.
