Reminder: a whole bunch of new LEGO sets are launching on Monday

Here’s your friendly neighbourhood reminder that a brand new batch of LEGO Star Wars, Batman and Marvel sets are launching in just two days.

For what may well be the first time ever, April 26 marks a pretty big day in the LEGO calendar. We’ve already seen the LEGO Group split its January wave of sets into two launches – one on New Year’s Day, then again on March 1 – but this is perhaps the most prominent example of a release day outside the start of a given month in recent memory.

A total of eight different sets and one blind-bagged series are launching across four different themes, all of which represent licensed LEGO properties. A fifth – consisting of three long-delayed sets – was also originally scheduled to go live at LEGO.com at the same time, but the trio of expected Minions: The Rise of Gru sets have now been pushed back again to May 24.

Here’s the full list of LEGO sets launching on Monday, along with links to our reviews where applicable:

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
