Reminder: the LEGO Marvel Infinity Saga sets may be revealed today

Here’s your friendly neighbourhood reminder that the rumoured LEGO Marvel Infinity Saga sets may be officially revealed later today.

Last week, Instagram user lego_club_news claimed that the summer wave of Marvel sets – notably absent from recent retailer reveals, which ranged from Disney and Speed Champions to CITY and Creator – would be unveiled on May 11. That’s today, folks.

According to rumours published back in March, the new wave of sets will take advantage of the gap in Marvel Cinematic Universe releases (spurred by the pandemic delaying the likes of Eternals and Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings) to revisit earlier movies in the superhero pantheon, all branded under the ‘Infinity Saga’ banner.

Iron Man Mk 1

Whether these rumoured sets will be revealed directly by the LEGO Group through an official press release or simply appear on third-party retail sites remains to be seen, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled and bring you any official images as soon as we can.

Of course, we’re obliged to point out that the initial rumour around the release date may yet be false, so there’s no guarantee that we’re going to see new LEGO Marvel sets today. But if we do, here’s what rumours say we can expect to find on shelves later this summer:

76186 Black Panther Dragon Flyer – 202 pieces, three minifigures, €19.99
76189 Captain America and Hydra Face-Off – 49 pieces, two minifigures, €9.99
76190 Iron Man: Iron Monger Mayhem – 479 pieces, three minifigures, €39.99
76192 Avengers Endgame: Final Battle – 527 pieces, eight minifigures, €89.99
76193 Benatar – 1,901 pieces, six minifigures, €149.99
76200 Sanctuary II – 265 pieces, three minifigures, €29.99

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then. You can follow me on Twitter at @brfa_chris.
