Rumours jingling about two Christmas GWP LEGO sets

Good boys and girls could see two Christmas GWP LEGO sets this year, according to rumours flying on social media.

It might not even be Halloween yet, but Christmas planning starts earlier and earlier every year. For LEGO fans, we’ve already seen Hallmark ornaments, three new seasonal LEGO sets, and of course the ever-popular LEGO advent calendars.

The LEGO Group also completes its festive line-up with holiday GWPs, even if last year saw some disappointment on that front. Rumoured names and set numbers for this year’s Christmas GWPs have now been spotted online, sparking speculation about what we can expect.

According to @greekbricks_ on Instagram, there will supposedly be two festive GWPs in 2022: 40564 Winters Elves and 40565 Santa’s Workshop. The latter could be a more modern, smaller update to the retired 10245 Santa’s Workshop, and either one could see a 2022 take on elf minifigures.

There’s no more information on piece count or price just yet but in previous years, holiday freebies are sometimes promoted during Black Friday. That means that we should find out more about any potential Christmas gifts from the LEGO Group by the end of November, just in time to plan our festive shopping.

Of course, what we know so far should be taken with a pinch of salt until we get confirmation from the LEGO Group themselves. For now, we can content ourselves with what we know we can get our hands on this Christmas. We dug into what we think of the biggest festive set for 2022, LEGO Winter Village 10308 Holiday Main Street, in our detailed review here, to help you get into the festive spirit early.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
