Sail the seven brick-built seas in latest LEGO Ideas event

LEGO Ideas is looking for pirates, scallywags and landlubbers alike to share their grand designs as part of the platform’s new activity.

Users are being asked to look towards the likes of 21322 Pirates of Barracadu Bay for the new LEGO Ideas building challenge, where designers from all across the world can come together to demonstrate, practice and inspire others with their own models.

As with most LEGO Ideas activities, building is key to the event with the team specifically grand pirate creations ahead of Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 19.

Guidelines and rules listed on the dedicated webpage apply to the activity, much like LEGO Ideas contests. Entrants may want to be especially careful of plagiarism following an incident that caused a fan vote to be extended.

That means transforming 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay into the official alternative build of the iconic ship won’t be enough for the event, but participants will need to imagine their own innovative and swashbuckling designs for a chance to be featured on the LEGO Group’s social media channels.

There is no prize for this activity, other than the usual bragging rights amongst your friend groups, but anyone hoping for a rewarding contest is out of luck at the moment as the puzzle-themed competition is now closed for entries and no others are live. In other LEGO Ideas news, the upcoming Home Alone set is rumoured for release in November.
