Seven new LEGO Technic sets launching today

A full wave of brand new LEGO Technic sets has just launched at LEGO.com, including two new pullback cars and the largest motorcycle to date.

42130 BMW M 1000 RR is arguably the theme’s first Ultimate Collector Series-style set, largely by dint of its display plaque, which apes those you’ll find in the likes of 75309 Republic Gunship and 75313 AT-AT. The 1,920-piece set is packed with functions, including steering, suspension, a three-speed gearbox, four-piston engine and chain transmission.

It’s the biggest Technic set out today, but it’s not the only one: six more have raced on to shelves real and virtual alongside it, including 42137 Formula E Porsche 99X Electric, 42138 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 and 42127 The Batman – Batmobile. The former two involve using a not-so-great app to complete mini-games and challenges, while the latter is Technic’s first-ever Batmobile.

You can check out both those sets – along with all the others launching today – through the links below:

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
