Shonda Rhimes claims lack of diversity in LEGO
Grey’s Anatomy Creator Shonda Rhimes took to Twitter to complain about a perceived lack of representation in LEGO products. Her Tweet followed the TV producer’s attempt to buy birthday gifts for her daughters and was reported by the Huffington Post Canada.

Until licensed LEGO products changed things up in 2005, minifigures were presented in classic yellow. What complicates the debate now is that LEGO Friends, targeted at girls, does not use the typical yellow hue. The core LEGO Friends cast features only one black character, Andrea, although there is some diversity in the wider mini-doll line up.
