Star Wars Boba Fett movie is in development

Reports reveal that Lucasfilm is developing a stand alone Star Wars movie focused on Boba Fett.

The bounty hunter who has barely any screen time but became a Star Wars legend is set to get his own stand alone movie. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Lucasfilm has hired James Mangold to write and direct a movie about Boba Fett. Originally portrayed by Jeremy Bulloch before being played by Daniel Logan, Boba Fett and Slave I have earned cult status over the years.

Josh Trank was originally hired to develop the Boba Fett movie, but parted ways with Lucasfilm after reported erratic behaviour when he was directing Fantastic Four. Mangold will be known to franchise entertainment fans – and cinephiles – as the director behind the critically adored Logan, a bold entry in the X-Men series.

A surprising twist at the end of Solo: A Star Wars Story suggests that there may connective tissue that will link the stand alone movies set in the underworld.
