Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3 gets a rumoured release date

A rumoured release date for Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3 has surfaced online, pointing to when we can expect to see more LEGO Mando sets.

The Disney+ show has taken a break in 2021 to make way for The Book of Boba Fett, the spin-off series that’s still scheduled to debut in January. Lucasfilm hasn’t yet confirmed when The Mandalorian will return, but Greef Karga actor Carl Weathers stated in August that production would be starting ‘within the next month’.

The Hollywood Reporter has now listed The Mandalorian alongside Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi as part of Disney’s streaming service slate in 2022, suggesting we’ll see the third season premiere sometime next year.

Just one LEGO Star Wars set arrived alongside The Mandalorian’s first season – 75254 AT-ST Raider – but we’ve since had plenty more Mando models, including this summer’s 75312 Boba Fett’s Starship and 75315 Imperial Light Cruiser, and last year’s 75292 The Mandalorian Bounty Hunter Transport.

While 2022 is so far rumoured to bring us at least one set based on The Book of Boba Fett, the January line-up is currently completely absent of anything related to The Mandalorian. But if the show’s third season does end up debuting in 2022, it seems very likely that we’ll also see Din Djarin, Grogu and co. in brand new sets next year.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
